When you say, you want “abs”, what you really want is to get lean.
Because, you already have “abs” or abdominal muscles. Otherwise, you cannot move. Your core muscles are the drivers muscles that help stabilise our body.
However, on top of those muscles, might be layers of fat. It is that you may think you want to lose. We can’t spot train to decrease body fat in one spot on our body. However, we can decrease overall body fat and some of it will decrease on your abdominal muscles.
Can be done, but you may want to ask a different question 😉
